First I've re-edited the main page to be a bit more concise.

Secondly the History page has changed and now links to pages collating groups of 10 contests together. I'd hit the maximum page limit on Wix and so I had to sacrifice looks for usability. As I'm assuming people rarely actually go back to past contests I've lost the pages (Images and the text between past results images has been lost), but the important information such as links to the songs and votes remains, albeit in spreadsheet form on Google.

 

Also, the first contest back will be a live contest. You can still vote in advance even if not coming to the live voting and reveal, and voting for that will stay open until the 28th as usual. However the date for the live voting and reveal will be on Monday March 30th

What is it?

 

The Song Contest is a music competition inspired by Eurovision. Participants submit a song they enjoy to share new music with others, then vote on their favorite entries. Each contestant uses a country alias (real or fictional) for anonymity. After voting, points are tallied and a winner is announced—but the real goal is discovering new music, artists, and genres.

How to Participate

1. Submit an Entry

• Entries open on the 1st of each month and close on the 14th.

• Choose a song available publicly online (YouTube or Bandcamp recommended).

  • No Spotify links

  • No restricted, private, paid, or sign-up–required links

• Submit via this form, email (include your real name), or direct message, including:

  • Country (alias)

  • Artist name

  • Song title

  • Song link

  • Representative image of the artist

2. Wait for Entry Reveal

All accepted entries will be posted together.

3. Vote

• Rank your top 10 countries via Google Form or PM.

• Points are awarded as follows:

12 – 1st place

10 – 2nd

8 – 3rd

7 – 4th

6 – 5th

5 – 6th

4 – 7th

3 – 8th

2 – 9th

1 – 10th

• You may not vote for yourself.

• Please listen to all entries and vote fairly.

• Voting deadline: the 28th of the month.

 

Important:
Anyone who entered and fails to vote receives a 20-point penalty and is more likely to be cut next contest.
Even if you didn’t enter (or were cut), you may still vote.

Results are posted between the 28th and the end of the month.

Entry Rules

• No previously entered songs (covers are allowed, but not the same song).

• Entries must be actual songs with a clear artist and title.

• Comedy skits or non-music content are not allowed.

• To avoid bias, artists who won within the last 20 contests may not be entered again.

  • If two artists shared top billing (Electric Callboy and Babymetal for instance), both artists are banned.

  • Featured artists may be entered separately later, but not the main band.

As a note, if there is a featured artist the featured artist may be entered, but not the main band, so Kayliana could be entered just not S3RL.

If There Are Too Many Entries

If entries exceed 26, cuts may be required (though this hasn’t happened yet). Cuts will be made in this order:

1. Anyone who failed to vote in the previous contest

2. Anyone cut in the previous contest

3. The Song Contest team

4. Top three from the previous contest

5. New entries and those who voted previously
