Welcome to the results of Song Contest 17!

Before we begin, you may also now submit entries for Song Contest 18!

SC18 Entry Deadline - Thursday 4th February- 10am GMT

Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

A quick note before we start. To save time, from now on all tiebreakers will be simply done in alphabetical order. The only time this will not be the case will be in the final results, as the original tiebreakers (most 12's, then 10's etc.) will be in force. This change is solely for the images during the votes being given.

In addition, Parts Unknown failed to submit their votes, and so have been docked 20 points as per the rules.

Now... onto the Results!

Heavyheart give their results first!

An early lead for the United Kingdom (not often they're doing well, hur-hur - ed), but as always, there's a long way to go, so let's see what Bearville do!

2.jpg

Luna jump into the lead instead now, and Bearville, Heavyheart and Nilfgaard are all still stuck on zero points. As a reminder, Germanyland and Skyrim are tied, but are listed in alphabetical order, not in the order they would necessarily be if tiebreakers were looked at. New Zealand are up next!

And a third change at the top in as many votes. France is now taking the lead, this could be all over the place folks. So let's see what Ascendia do to the standings.

4.jpg

I told you it could be all over the place. St. Vincent now take the top spot, four changes in four votes is a new one on me. But let's see if St. Vincent can break that streak as Skyrim give their results!

5.jpg

And no, St. Vincent drops back to third, while France re-take the lead, being the first country to be at the top twice. United Kingdom, our initial leaders, have dropped into eighth place. France is up next to give their results though, so are they going to stay at the top?

6.jpg

And Luna now take the lead again, and a pretty strong one considering how close things have been so far. Will they be dethroned again as the United Kingdom give their results?

7.jpg

And we have a tie for first! It's practically anyone's game at this stage! I'll remind everyone that the top two could be the other way around if tiebreakers were looked at, but they aren't until the end. So let's move on to Germanyland and see if that tiebreaker can be broken!

8.jpg

St. Vincent retakes the lead! It's all over the place at the top, but further down it's still extremely close. We are just under two thirds of the way, and everyone can still win it, and there is only twelve points between first and seventh. Luna steps up with their votes next however.

9.jpg

And France is back in the lead! But St. Vincent and Luna no longer are right behind them, as The Gap takes second, and Nilfgaard leaps up into fourth, with Luna dropping right back to fifth. However, Nilfgaard are up next to give their results, so let us see what happens.

10.jpg

Twelve points to Skyrim moves them from eighth right up to third and challenging the top spot, which has been taken by The Gap In The Map at this relatively late stage! Luna has even dropped right down to ninth, which just shows how close everything is in this contest. Parts Unknown and New Zealand also become the first countries unable to win at this stage. Disneyland are up next!

11.jpg

Skyrim now take the top spot! But the only other country to drop out of the running is our original leaders, United Kingdom! It's still so close that everyone else has a shot. The Gap In The Map are next up to give our penultimate votes.

12.jpg

Skyrim retain the lead, but only with a single point lead over Nilfgaard! France and The Gap In The Map are tied for third, with Ascendia bringing up the rear as everyone else falls out of the rankings at this point, St. Vincent falls out of the running as they are last up to give their results, and as we know, they cannot give themselves points, so lets see what they do...

13.jpg

And Nilfgaard are your Song Contest 17 winners! A huge congratulations to them, and well done to Skyrim and France for coming second and third respectively! I believer this was one of the best contests we've had, and every single entry deserves a pat on the back for  such a great showing.
