Welcome to the results of Song Contest 23!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 24!

SC24 Entry Deadline - Wednesday 27th July - 11:59pm GMT

Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

A quick note: Ties are broken based on which country has the most 12 points. If that is tied we look at 10 points, then 8, 7 and so on. If there is a tie all the way down, they will be shown in alphabetical order.

Finally, Hollywood, Hyrule and Jamaica failed to vote, and therefore will receive 20 point penalties.

Now... onto the Results!

First, as some were after a way to keep track of which song was which country, here's a table that will hopefully help.

Now to the actual results! Little Big Planet are up first!

1.jpeg

Ascent get a 12 to get them going strong out of the gate. But as always there's a long way to go, and anyone could win at this point, so let's go over and see what Germanyland do.

2.jpeg

Another high scoring result for Ascent, but Isle of Wight are closing in on them. A lot of countries still on zero at this stage though, and one of them won't be changing that as New Dimension come forward with their points!

3.jpeg

Ascent still staying in the lead as Frogshire jump into a solid second place. Further down only four countries are left on zero points, and all of our minus twenty starters have received some points. It's all to play for as we look over to The Efteling for their results.

4.jpeg

And Little Big Planet off the starting blocks with a big twelve points there. Ascent remain in the lead, but it's closing fast as Frogshire and Isle of Wight play catch up. Let's see what No Man's Land's points do to the running.

5.jpeg

And no change at all in the top four, though all receive points. Djibouti however jump into the fifth spot. It's a big lead up front, and both Egland and New Dimension are still yet to receive points, and it's Egland up next!

6.jpeg

We're a third of the way through the results, and there's no luck for New Dimension there, and the lead for Ascent has closen up even more as they receive no points at all. At the bottom end of things, Hollywood comes out of the minus points heavily. Let's see what changes happen as Cameroon give their results!

7.jpeg

Ascent receive another twelve and that puts them in a comfortable lead. The only change in the top eight places is Bearville overtake Isle of Wight. Further back it seems both Egland and New Dimension manage to move off the zero mark, and have secured points! Let's go over to Kazakhstan and see what happens with their results!

8.jpeg

No points at all for Ascent which allows the lead to be closed further, but it's still a strong lead. Bearville close the gap on second place, while Isle of Wight get no points, yet remain in fourth. Let's go over to our fifth place country, Djibouti, and get their points!

9.jpeg

Just two points for Ascent and that lead has dropped massively, while Bearville are hot on the heels of Frogshire, but there's a twenty two point gap between third and fourth! At the bottom, Jamaica have finally moved out of the negative points. Taking us into the second half of the voting, let's go over to Dean Town!

10.jpeg

Twelve points go to The Efteling, but they are still far, far behind our current leaders Ascent, who manage to get a few more points ahead. Little Big Planet and Kazakhstan both get into the top five though, just nudging Isle of Wight out due to tie breakers. Let's see what Australia does with their points, will they stay on the left side or move themselves to the right side?

11.jpeg

Australia stay right where they are, but Ascent once again makes a massive leap forwards, leaving Frogshire in the dust. Isle of Wight get the ten points, but all it does is close the gap on third. Can anyone catch Ascent? Will Isle of Wight catch Bearville? Not right now at least as they're up next!

12.jpeg

Ascent remain comfortably in the lead, but Bearville manage to overtake Frogshire! Hollywood, who started on minus twenty are also in fourth place, just pushing Isle of Wight to fifth due to tiebreakers. Hyrule however are the first casualty as they can no longer receive enough points to catch up to Ascent at this point. Let's see who joins them after Zanzibar's points.

13.jpeg

A great twelve points for Germanyland there. But they are still only on half of the points of the leaders as Ascent remain in first. Frogshire are back into second place though. More countries fall out of the running, including Exandria who drop out because they are still left to give their results, while Jamaica and Zanzibar have no results left to give. Let's look over to Bearville for their results!

14.jpeg

Twelve points to France, but it's definitely too little too late as they were already out of the running. Ascent however extend their lead once more. Frogshire remain eighteen points behind them in second place, but neither themselves nor Ascent have given their points yet. We shall have to wait longer though as we go over to Exandria for their results.

15.jpeg

Exandria give twelve to Hyrule, moving them into the positive numbers. Ascent however extend their lead yet again as Frogshire are twenty points behind them. Only six countries can win this, and it's a big climb to catch our leaders, Frogshire won't be doing it just yet though as it's their turn to give their points.

16.jpeg

Bearville move to second place. Still twenty points behind Ascent, and Frogshire are twenty four points behind. It's come down to just three countries, and our leaders are still yet to give their points, and it seems France is actually up next.

17.jpeg

And while Ascent have yet to give their points, it is not possible for Bearville to catch them, and so your winner of Song Contest 23 is Ascent! But we still have to find out who will be second, and for that honour we still have four countries in the running, so let's look to our winners to see who takes home second and third!

1st: Ascent - Avi Kaplan - Change on the Ride

And there's actually no change at all at the top, with The Efteling being the first country to raise it's position at all (or receive points for that matter). A huge congratulations to Ascent for a very strong showing, and well done to Bearville and Isle of Wight for second and third respectively.

Thank you to everyone who took part, and remember that the entries for Song Contest 24 are open already, the the deadline is Wednesday 27th July at 11:59pm.
