Welcome to the results of Song Contest 31!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 32!

SC32 Entry Deadline:
Sunday 23rd July - 11:59pm GMT
Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

Reminder: I now have an automated system for doing the results images. What used to take me hours now takes far, far less. That has forced through a few changes on the results images.

Firstly, country names are now cut off after a certain amount of pixels as determined by the program.

Secondly, ties are not really shown in any form of order, merely what the program outputs them as. Only the last image will be correct and that's because I'll still make that one manually if it's required.

Finally, the nice colour coding has gone. No longer will it show a red country name if they cannot win any more unfortunately. As I'm editing the final image manually it will show the final colours still.

All countries voted, and thus there are NO penalties to give out!
I've removed the images showing the entries, but if people find it useful I shall add it back in from next week.

Now... onto the Results

Plainterra are first up!

A great start for United Kingdom there as they move into the lead. Six countries remain on zero points, and on definitely still will as it's Hey! Nul Points Means Nul Points up next.

And with that all but two countries now have points, United Kingdom remain in the lead, and there's a two way tie for second with The Desert and Bearland both on twelve. Let's go to another zero point country, Dancefloor, and see what they do to the rankings.

United Kingdom still in the lead, as The Desert pulls into second, and Cream just edge up into third place. Hey! remain on zero alongside Dancefloor, could either of them move from the starting blocks as Bearland come in with their points?

And yes! Hey! move from zero points straight to twelve as Bearland gives them full marks. Dancefloor however remain at the back. United Kingdom are still in first however and The Desert stick around in second. Cream are up next, let's see what changes with them.

Dancefloor finally move from zero, but only a single point is given. The Gap In The Map get a solid twelve points and make a massive jump up the rankings. United Kingdom have increased their lead and are a full twelve points ahead of second place, which is now Plainterra! We're about a third of the way through though, so it's still anyone's to win at this stage. Let's check in with Luteus Alpha and see what they do!

United Kingdom pull further ahead, but only by a single point. Germanyland receive a solid twelve points moving them over to the left side of the board, and Dancefloor remain in last place as they're still the only country to be on single digits. The Gap In The Map were second from the bottom just two countries ago, and are now third from the top. Everything can change so fast this early on! It's Iceland next, will they extend United Kingdom's lead? Shorten it? Move Dancefloor off the literal floor? Let's find out!

Good points for Dancefloor, but they remain in last place. At the important end of the rankings, United Kingdom do retain their lead, but with no points collected from Iceland the gap between them and Plainterra has drastically shrunk. Germanyland are in fourth, but what's going to change with their points? Let's find out!

And we now have a tie for first as United Kingdom and The Gap In The Map share the same points. If we looked at tie breakers The Gap In The Map would just edge it out (Both received a twelve, but only The Gap received a ten), but we're only halfway through and there's a long way to go still. Dancefloor finally moved off the bottom of the board, leaving Hey! Nul Points down there. As the top get bunched together, and The Gap In The Map are technically in the lead, they come forward to give their points!

And nothing changes at the top, it's still a tie between The Gap In The Map and United Kingdom, howeer that just means the rest of the pack close in even further. Plainterra is now just two points away from them as is Norway who was in the middle of the pack for most of the contest so far. Let's check in with Polus and see what they do to things.

Norway come from out of nowhere and claim the top spot as United Kingdom drops to second and The Gap In The Map are pushed down to third! Hey! remains in last place, while Cream and Bearland tie for fourteenth. The Desert sit in fourth place, are they going to fall back further here? Let's find out!

Norway extends the lead, while The Gap In The Map jumps back into second. It's a pretty big lead from first over fourth, but there's still five countries to go, In theory even Hey! Nul Points could win from this stage. It's over to France for their points though, so let's see what changes.

Iceland move up into a solid third, but trailing them by just four points is Dancefloor, that remained on the bottom for the first third of the contest. The Gap In The Map returns to first as Norway trails them by a single point. Unfortunately for Norway they are up next so will they stay where they are, will The Gap In The Map extend their lead, or will Iceland leap over them both? Let's find out!

The Gap In The Map extend their lead even further, and Dancefloor take second place. Norway are knocked back to third as Dancefloor get their full twelve points. It's suddenly got very close at the top end with just three countries to go. Let's check in with Loompaland to see how things shape up.

And from dead last at the start to top of the board right now. With two countries to go Dancefloor secures the top spot, and Norway move back to second. Only the top four are in with a chance of winning outright at this stage as United Kingdom are up next, and thus cannot score enough points to get a victory. But what will their votes do to the rest of the standings?

Another twelve for Dancefloor and now only they and Norway are in with a chance at the top spot! Hey! Nul Points gets another single point, but there's no way off the bottom for them at this time. We look over to Alaria to find out just which of our top two are getting the victory...

1st: Dancefloor: Electric Callboy - Everytime We Touch

And with that Dancefloor are the winners of Song Contest 31! A huge congratulations to them for a very strong victory, and congratulations also go out to both Norway and The Gap In The Map for a solid second and third place respectively.
As always entries are open for Song Contest 32, so please enter in the usual way, and please be sure to vote if you enter as it does take away from the effort others put in to listen to all of the entries and from the amount of time it takes to edit everything for everyone to enjoy.
