Welcome to the results of Song Contest 33!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 33!

SC34 Entry Deadline:
Sunday 3rd September - 11:59pm GMT
Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

Reminder: ties are not really shown in any form of order, merely what the program outputs them as. I'll manually edit the final image if there is a tie amongst the top 3 countries, but if it's lower down it will be noted in the text and on the Previously Entered song list.

Important: As of now all winners from 20 contests ago (so from SC 13 and earlier) are available to be entered again. This will continue going forwards. This is due to the fact there's a long gap between entries and we get a lot of new people entering, so opening up things seems better.
That said, the same song by the artist is still banned, so be sure to check the song has not been previously entered still.

All countries voted, and thus there are NO penalties to give out!
I've removed the images showing the entries, but if people find it useful I shall add it back in from next week.

Now... onto the Results

Loompaland is first up!

The Upside-Down starting off with a solid lead, as always it's a long way to go though, so will they remain at the top? It's Liberté up next, so let's see what they do.

Twelve to Yggdrasil put them into the lead, and at the bottom end everyone except Liberté are on points now. The Upside-Down are in joint second with Germanyland, but they're up next, so let's see what happens with their votes!

And Loompaland jump into first place, with Iceland only a point behind them, and Argentina and The Palace are joint third only one point behind Second. It's very close at the top, and everyone is off the starting block at the bottom end with ties almost all the way down. Let's check out the results from Bretonnia next!

Green Hill Zone moves from last up to eighth with those results, but at the top of the board it's Iceland and Germanyland vying for first place! We're going over to Phantomhive to find out what their results do to the rankings.

Yggdrasil make it a four way tie for second, and make the editor extremely glad he's not still working that all out manually each time. Iceland however are a good eight points ahead of that grouping in second place. Germanyland are up next, so they cannot catch Iceland themselves, but will someone else do so?

And yes! Loompaland take the lead again as Iceland don't collect a single point. We're nearing the halfway mark and anyone can still win it, so let's check in with France to take us to the midway point!

At the halfway point Argentina are in the lead, with Loompaland only two points behind them, and Iceland just two points behind Iceland. It's all neck and neck at the top, but can Argentina stay in first as they are next to give their results?

And no, they drop down to third place as both Iceland and Green Hill Zone are pushed above them into first and second respectively. But again our leaders are up next to give their points, so will Iceland remain in first? Let's see!

And Argentina are once again in first! Iceland drop to second, and Green Hill zone take up third place. I haven't seen a back and forth like this before. There's five countries left to vote so we're nearing the home stretch. Let's go up to the International Space Station for their votes (and a quick telling off for the editor who says he can't be bothered fixing the text in their name)

Iceland take the lead back as they knock Argentina back to second once again. Green Hill Zone is still in third, but a great showing from Yggdrasil has them catching up to the top three. Will Green Hill Zone drop out of the pack as they give their points?

They do, Green Hill Zone drop down to third as Argentina leapfrog Iceland once again., with Yggdrasl taking that third spot! We have just three countries left to vote, So almost everyone on the right side is out of the running at this stage, only the International Space Station even has a chance and it basically requires zero points for our top countries from here on out. Will it happen? Let's see with Plainterra's results!

And The International Space Station drops from the running as Iceland pick up a solid twelve at this stage of the proceedings. But they're still only two points ahead of Argentina, while Loompaland and Germanyland are tied in third. It's a very big gap between second and third as well. Loompaland and Germanyland could still win, but if Iceland receive even two points they will prevent anyone but them and Argentina getting the top spot! So it's over to The Palace for their results!

And that's it, only two countries have a chance of first place now, while only two have a chance at third as Loompaland is on seventy two points, and Germanyland is ten behind them in fifth. Yggdrasil sits between them, but they're last to vote so it all comes down to them. Will Argentina remain in first? Will Loompaland take third? It's all about to be decided as we look at Yggdrasil's votes!

1st: Iceland - Robinson & Madeon - Shelter

And that's the end of Seong Contest 33! Iceland take a solid victory and become one of only 4 countries to break the 100 point barrier (five if you count one sitting on it as breaking it). Argentina come second, and Loompaland take a solid third despite being 22 points behind second place. A huge well done to our top 3, and remember that previous winners can now be entered with new songs. For reference the artists that can be entered now are:

Interpol
Lindsay Stirling
Rainbow
Tripod vs the Dragon
Patty Gurdy
Devin Townsend Project
Fozzy
Floor Jansen en Henk Poort
Jackson Browne
Foo Fighters
Indica
Gary Clark Jr.
Kit

On the Home page there will now be a list of which artists cannot be entered which will, hopefully, be updated regularly.
As always entries are open for Song Contest 34, so please enter in the usual way, and please be sure to vote if you enter as it does take away from the effort others put in to listen to all of the entries and from the amount of time it takes to edit everything for everyone to enjoy.
