Welcome to the results of Song Contest 34!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 35!

SC35 Entry Deadline:
Sunday 1st October - 11:59pm GMT
Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

Reminder: ties are not really shown in any form of order, merely what the program outputs them as. I'll manually edit the final image if there is a tie amongst the top 3 countries, but if it's lower down it will be noted in the text and on the Previously Entered song list.

Reminder: As of now all winners from 20 contests ago (so from SC 14 and earlier) are available to be entered again. This will continue going forwards. This is due to the fact there's a long gap between entries and we get a lot of new people entering, so opening up things seems better.
That said, the same song by the artist is still banned, so be sure to check the song has not been previously entered still.

All countries voted, and thus there are NO penalties to give out!
I've removed the images showing the entries, but if people find it useful I shall add it back in from next week.

Now... onto the Results

We start off in The Attic!

France taking the first twelve points of the contest there, we move forward in time to Gallifrey and see what they give us.

Tortuga take twelve and pull up right behind France with just a single point seperating them. The Attic remains the only country not to get any points as well. Let's see if Germanyland help them out.

And that's every country with points now, and a tie for first between France and Loompaland. But we're only three countries in with ten to go, and it's Loompaland up next, will they drop down the pack?

Loompaland stay near the top in second place, but France does move further ahead. Tortuga sit in third, but it's still very close at the top. Let's see if Tortuga remain in third after their own results!

And France extends their lead by a good margin, making it impossible to be caught with a single countries votes. Loompaland remain in second but are now tied with Phyrexia, while Antarctica now bring up the fourth place slot. Ironically The Attic is still struggling to get off the bottom. Let's go over to Canada and see how they change things up.

France remain in first as expected, but Phyrexia close the gap enough that they could overtake them. Loompaland now tie with Antarctica and Tortuga for third place, but that's likely to change as Antarctica are up next as we move past the halfway point!

France now with a fifteen point lead, while there's only a single point between second and third. The Attic is finally off the bottom as well as Nowhere returns there again. Phyrexia is up next, so let's see if they remain in second or drop back!

Phyrexia drop back to third as Tortuga take their twelve and move up into second place, putting them just ten points shy of France who still are yet to be dethroned! Our last place for the moment is up next to give their points, so it's over to Nowhere!

Another twelve for France and they are back to a fifteen point lead over Tortuga, who themselves are a full ten points ahead of Phyrexia in third! The gaps at the top keep stretching out, but we're over to Richard Tumbling now for their points!

France's lead is reduced to fourteen points, but with just three countries left to vote can they be caught, or is it a runaway victory for them? They still have to vote, and that means every country down to Germanyland still has a chance of victory, and in fact it's over to France next!

Despite not being able to give themselves points France remain fourteen points ahead, though the gap between the pack has shrunk significantly from second down. Germanyland drop out of the running but everyone else does still have a chance of victory as long as France doesn't receive significant points. We now go over to Hummmmmmmville for their results. (Was that enough m's? - ed)

And as France definitely received significant points, putting them 21 points ahead of second place, they are guarenteed victory in this contest, with everyone now fighting for second place. Phyrexia leads that race by four points, but it's quite close behind them. Let's see what Plainterra does with their votes!

1st: France - Julie Lavery - Stars and Stripes

And France is the victor as previously stated, a huge congratulations to them for such a runaway victory in the end. Phyrexia also take second place by a very strong thirteen points, while third through to fifth are tied on points, but Antarctica just eek out the victory by having more twelve point results than anyone else (One, incidentally from our winner's France). Once again, a huge congratulations to our winners, and as a reminder the following past winners are now available to be reentered:

Interpol
Lindsay Stirling
Rainbow
Tripod vs the Dragon
Patty Gurdy
Devin Townsend Project
Fozzy
Floor Jansen en Henk Poort

On the Home page there will now be a list of which artists cannot be entered which will, hopefully, be updated regularly.
As always entries are open for Song Contest 35, so please enter in the usual way, and please be sure to vote if you enter as it does take away from the effort others put in to listen to all of the entries and from the amount of time it takes to edit everything for everyone to enjoy.
