Welcome to the results of Song Contest 42!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 43.

Reminder: ties are not really shown in any form of order, merely what the program outputs them as. I'll manually edit the final image if there is a tie amongst the top 3 countries, but if it's lower down it will be noted in the text and on the Previously Entered song list.

Bonus Note: There will be a Live Song Contest coming up that will conclude on the 30th of November. It will still be a standard contest, but for those around the local area you'll be given invites for it. This contest will be exactly as normal with one additional rule that song lengths will be limited (potentially to 3 minutes 30 seconds at max, but that may change based on average entry numbers nearer the time). So keep that in mind when picking songs. It will still be a normal contest that can be voted on in the normal manner, but you may also attend and vote live. Results will still be posted online later that day.

Before we get into the results, five countries failed to vote. A very disappointing number. They are: England, Hallownest, Italy, Midgard and Phyrexia. All have received -20 points and if we get more than 26 entries in the next contest, will also be barred from entering it.

That said, it's time to get straight into the results with Romania!

Italy would have been in the lead, but as it is they are still on negative points, and that puts Utopia III into the lead! A long way to go however so let's not waste any time and go over to Japan for their results.

Ambrosia take the lead now, while six countries are yet to receive a single point (this includes Phyrexia on -20). Will Poland help any of them out? Let's find out now!

Poland does help them out, well, one at least as Costa receives 10 points. Guthlaxton also jumps into the lead, but it's very close and we've barely got started. So it's time to check in with Klendathu for their results.

Guthlaxton extend their lead with a solid twelve points, breaking away from the pack. Epstein's Island and Germanyland also receive their first points of the contest too. We'll now check in with Checkistan for their results.

Guthlaxton extend their lead even further, making it impossible to be overtaken with the next votes. Which is good news for them as they're up!

Alaria start catching up with Guthlaxton thanks to those 10 points. And at the same time Phyrexia and Klendathu, the last countries left on zero points, finally get moving! And while Alaria may have moved into second, it's over to them for their points!

No change for Guthlaxton, but Costa move up into third with a very much needed twelve points. There's also an interesting three way tie at the bottom. If 666 is the number of the beast, what's -6-6-6? (You being fired if you don't get on with it. - Ed) Russia is up next!

Again, no points for our top two, and that allows Your Worst Nightmares to move up into joint second (Alaria is second based on tiebreakers). We're about to move over to the second half of the votes and it's Epstein's Island up next to take us there!

And seemingly out of nowhere Romania take the top spot! Guthlaxton hold onto second, but Russia moves into third. Alaria have dropped way back into sixth! It's all change suddenly and we are only just at the half way point. So it's time to see what the U.S.A. does to the proceedings.

They put Guthlaxton back at the top in a decent lead is what they do to proceedings. Romania don't move, but are now a full eleven points behind our leaders. Third place is Costa, but will they remain there as they give us their results?

They do not, Costa fall back to fifth, while Guthlaxton remain in first, and Your Worst Nightmares begin their climb up once more. It's still very close in third as Romania tie with Alaria, but with less than twelve points between third and eleventh a single vote could change everything. We're going over to Germanyland to see if it does.

And it does! Elysium jumps up to third. Guthlaxton remains in the lead, but the gap between them and Your Worst Nightmares is steadily closing. Also all countries have finally pulled themselves out of the initial negative points they were stuck in. With five countries left to vote it's possible, if unlikely, for even the countries at the bottom to still win as a maximum of sixty points are up for grabs. Let's see if Elysium help any of them out.

They don't, and in fact that give top billing to Your Worst Nightmares, who finally dethrone Guthlaxton. And with that they also eliminate everyone from Checkistan down from being in the running to win. Ambrosia are up next, so let's see who get their points.

Too little too late for Hallownest unfortunately, and Klendathu get the ten, leaving them still in with a shot. Any country with less than twenty seven points is now out, so Germanyland cannot win, but U.S.A. are still in with a shot, but just barely. At the top end Your Worst Nightmares are still in the lead, but as they are up next could this ruin their chances? Let's see!

And apparently not with zero points to Guthlaxton, Guthlaxton drop to fourth, but Strangaal and Costa leap up to joint second. With just two countries left to vote, and one of them being Strangaal as well, could we see a new leader? Only twenty four points can be gained now, so if you don't have thirty nine points you cannot even tie. So Poland is just out of the running. Let's get our penultimate votes!

Your Worst Nightmares remain in first, but Romania have come out of nowhere to sit just a single point behind them! Our top six all could still win, it all comes down to our final set of votes. Will Your Worst Nightmares remain in first? Will Guthlaxton return to the top? Let's find out!

1st: Romania - Sueco - Outta My Head

Romania take the win in a very well fought contest! Your Worst Nightmares pick up second, with Strangaal taking the third slot. Looking at the tie breakers, Guthlaxton does finish above Elysium, Midgard finishes above U.S.A. as they received twelve points, while U.S.A. didn't. and Germanyland does finish above Epstein's Island.
