Welcome to the results of Song Contest 47!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 48.

SC48 Entry Deadline:

Monday 14th April - 11:59pm GMT

Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

Reminder:  ties are not really shown in any form of order, merely what the program outputs them as. I'll manually edit the final image if there is a tie amongst the top 3 countries, but if it's lower down it will be noted in the text and on the Previously Entered song list.

Now... onto the Results

We start off with HELL-A!

1.png

Y Ty Neidr taking first place early on, but with fourteen countries left to give in their results we have a long way to go. So let's check in with Phyrexia for their results!

2.png

Another top placing for Y Ty Neidr, giving them a good lead already. Three countries remain on zero though, and one of them, England, is up next!

3.png

And that's three in a row for Y Ty Neidr! With England being the only country left on zero points. Alaria take second, but are behind by fifteeh points. So need to catch up a fair amount already. But next up is Y Ty Neidr, so no points for them, will they change things for Alaria?

4.png

And they do! Alaria move to just seven points behind Y Ty Neidr! England however are yet to get off the starting blocks. The middle of the pack is far more bunched up right now though, so it's still all to play for. Let's check in with Poland for their results!

5.png

Poland give their twelve to Y Ty Neidr and they're back to shooting ahead as they're seemingly taking a clean sweep of the contest thus far. Alaria get points but fall further behind again. England however are yet to get off the starting gate. Let's see if Ultramar change up anything.

6.png

Not too much changed. Y Ty Neidr remain in first, Alaria remain in second. But England move off the bottom leaving World War 3 in last place! Greece is up next, what will they do to things?

7.png

Move World War 3 off the bottom of the board is what they'll do. Which also puts England right back there. At the top end however Y Ty Neidr only get two points, breaking the clean sweep they were getting, and Alaria only gain four. No change in placement, but it allows a lot of countries to catch up a bit. Germanyland are up next though, so will the top end change at all?

8.png

Y Ty Neidr are back to getting good marks again as they take the ten points. Alaria take the twelve though, closing that gap slightly. At the bottom end World War 3 move above Germanyland. There's a decent sized gap opening up between second and third right now too. We're also just over half way so we're in the second half of proceedings as we check in with Flapland.

9.png

Still good points for Y Ty Neidr with eight gained, but Alaria close that gap further as they score a solid twelve points. Greece and HELL-A tie for third however, with Flapland only a single point behind them. Hallownest is close behind on thirty six, but they are up next, so let's see if Alaria can close that gap even more!

10.png

And they cannot. It widens by another two points, but both get very good scores again, with HELL-A breaking the third place tie. England remains in last place though, we're about to check in with Isle of Dogs next though, so lets see what happens to the standings as we enter the final third of the results. Which, incidentally, has knocked everyone from Poland and lower out of the running.

11.png

Phyrexia take another twelve points, putting them above HELL-A and into third! Interestingly no points at all for Y Ty Neidr, but a good ten points for Alaria making it a one point gap from first to second. But Alaria are up next so let's check in with them!

12.png

Only siz points to Y Ty Neidr, but it does open the gap up somewhat. More interestingly is England get a solid twelve points and are still stuck in last place. We have just three countries left to vote, which means only our top three stand a chance at the top place. Zootopia are up next to give their results, will they guarantee Y Ty Neidr the top spot, or will HELL-A make a giant leap?

13.png

Alaria jump up into first! A four point lead as Y Ty Neidr only grab a single point, and HELL-A fall out of the running for first as they only receive two points. It's a two horse (or half horse) race! Just two countries to vote as well, which means further down only the left hand side have a chance of third place too. But one of those is up next, let's see what USA does!

14.png

We now have two countries with over one hundred points, and HELL-A, receiving twelve points, solidifies third place for themselves. Nobody can overtake them. Unfortunately England have locked themselves into last place at this point as well as they cannot overtake anyone either. World War 3 is our final country to vote, so let's see who wins. Does Alaria pip Y Ty Neidr at the end? Or does Y Ty Neidr gallop into victory?

1st: Y Ty Neidr - OCT - Half Horse Half Man

Y Ty Neidr take the victory by just a single point! Alaria come in second, and HELL-A roll in third!  England do get some solid points at the end but it's not quite enough unfortunately.

A huge bit of information coming from this as well is that the highest scoring song is still Phantom Of The Opera by Floor Jansen en Henk Port with 119 points. But the new second place is Half Horse Half Man, and the new third is The Emptiness Machine. We have a second place entry as the third highest placing song of all time. So a huge congratulations to both for that.

Entries are open for Song Contest 48 immediately, and will close at the end of Monday 14th April. So get those entries in asap!
