Welcome to the results of Song Contest 50!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 51.

SC51 Entry Deadline:
Monday 14th July - 11:59pm GMT
Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

Reminder: ties are not really shown in any form of order, merely what the program outputs them as. I'll manually edit the final image if there is a tie amongst the top 3 countries, but if it's lower down it will be noted in the text and on the Previously Entered song list.

Before we get into the results, three countries failed to vote. Peru, UK and United Kingdom. All have received -20 points and if we get more than 26 entries in the next contest, will also be barred from entering it.

That said, it's time to get straight into the results with Guthlaxtown!

An early lead for England, but with so many entries even three of our left side entries are still on zero points, so who knows what will be the end result? Let's check in with Phyrexia next.

England remain in first, while a three way tie is in both second and fifth place. I'm sure that will be fixed by Germanyland.

Well, the second place tie was fixed by simply shoving them all down the list as none of them received points. But the fifth place tie was resolved by both NUSA and Flapland receiving points, putting them into second and third place respectively. Next up, Bearville!

England remain in first, but are now tied with Flapland. Third place is a tie between NUSA and Utopia III. On the bottom end of things the only country yet to receive any points is Alaria, but our three non-voters are still below it due to negative points. Song. Contest. is up next, so let us see how they change the board.

A new leader as NUSA take the top spot. The Land of Oz move up into second, while Germanyland take third. England has dropped to fifth place, joining Flapland who went down with it, and Bearville who jumped up half the field to meet them. Alaria remain on zero points, and they will after the next votes as they're up!

Another twelve to Bearville puts them in the lead, but NUSA and The Land of Oz are extremely close behind them, while Germanyland and Somewhere Out There are tied in fourth. USA, on just two points, are up next.

Twelve points to United Kingdom take them out of negative points. Alaria also receive their first points of the contest as well. At the top end Germanyland are in the lead and we once again have a three way tie for second place. One of these days the editor will actually pay attention to anything beyond what's in first place to make life easier on himself. Today is clearly not that day. For now we move from USA to NUSA!

Twelve points to UK isn't enough to get it out of the negatives, but Germanyland are now forced to share the top spot with Somewhere Out There. But we aren't even at the halfway point yet, so much could change, and something will as we go over to The Land of Oz!

Y Ty Neidr collect a solid twelve there bringing them up to fifth. Wolf Republic, who have seemingly been ignored on the right hand side of the board hop over to the left hand side with a good ten points, but the eight to Somewhere Out There push them into the lead. Next up Y Ty Neidr.

Wolf Republic up to joint third with twelve points from Y Ty Neidr, and Somewhere Out There increase their lead but not by much. At the very bottom Peru and UK have found the starting line. Up next is Antarctica!

Twelve points to United Kingdom push them onto the left hand side as we are into the second half of the voting. Had they voted they would currently be in third place, but alas they didn't. No points for Somewhere Out There, but they manage to hold onto first place, but the gap is closing, and will their lead vanish entirely as we check in on them?

Somewhere Out There remain in first as Wolf Republic leap up into second place, Germanyland are just a single point behind them despite not getting any points, and Y Ty Neidr have pulled back up into fourth. We also have no countries on zero points any more, meaning all our non-voters have received enough to get into the positives. Our early leaders England are up next.

Twelve points to Guthlaxtown, and ten to State of Boob Boom don't change too much at the top end, but it does move things around in the centre of the board. State of Boob Boom is up next.

And twelve to Guthlaxtown again pushes them up to joint fifth, while twelve to England pushes them to the top of the right hand side. Germanyland with eight pushes it above Somewhere Out There however, and they retake the lead. Up next is Flapland.

Germanyland increase their lead but Somewhere Out There remain in second, but only just as World Republic, Norway and Bearville are hot on their heels. Will Wolf Republic stay in third or will they drop down the board as they give their results? As a note, with just four countries left to give their results a maximum of fourty eight points are available, this means Peru and UK are out of the running.

Twelve to Y Ty Neidr brings them up to third, as Worlf Republic drop to fifth. Somewhere Out There manage to barely cling on to second. Three countries left mean only Flapland and above have a chance of winning, for now let's check in with the Dugga Doo themselves, Hallownest.

Germanyland remain in the lead, and increase it to twenty four points, meaning the only two countries that could have a chance are Somewhere Out There and Y Ty Neidr, and to win they would need to tie with Germanyland and it would come down to tiebreakers. Looking down at second place and it's much closer. The entire left hand side can still end up in second place. Even Norway despite them being next to give their results!

And speaking of second place, Flapland have seemingly come from nowhere to jump up the left hand side to steal it from Somewhere Out There, who have dropped behind Y Ty Neidr into fourth place. Germanyland however have got a very comfortable twenty one point lead and therefore are the guaranteed winners of Song Contest 50. But second place is yet to be decided. So it's over to Utopia III to discover the final standings.

1st: Germanyland - Billy Idol - White Wedding

Germanyland take the victory as previously stated, but Flapland end up with a rather definitive finish, ending eight whole points ahead of our third place finisher which was... Y Ty Neidr (Somewhere Out There didn't get a single twelve, Y Ty Neidr got three)

Further down the results, ties are broken as follows:
Wolf Republic beat Norway
NUSA beat Utopia III
England beat Hallownest

Thankyou to all who entered, and I hope to see you all back for the next one.

As always entries are open for the next Song Contest, so please enter in the usual way, and please be sure to vote if you enter as it does take away from the effort others put in to listen to all of the entries and from the amount of time it takes to edit everything for everyone to enjoy.
