Welcome to the results of Song Contest 53!

Before we begin, let me remind everyone that the Song Contest is now over for 2025 and will return for March 2026. So it's a good time to find good music for next year.
Everyone will receive a reminder at the start of March that entries can be submitted. I will not be taking early entries.
During the downtime I will need to redo the website as the total number of pages used has been reached, this means I will change how the previous contests are saved and other than the current contest all past contest information will be transferred to Google Sheets and be linked to from here. This will include what each country entered and how points were awarded. The Previous Entries sheet will remain as it is for easy searching in the future. Images will not be retained however so if, for some reason, someone wishes to save any images from entries they should do so asap.
Now, onto the final results of 2025.

Reminder: ties are not really shown in any form of order, and I'll merely state after the final image what the tiebreakers were.

Before we get into the results, two countries failed to vote. East Agouza and Equatorial Guinea therefore will receive -20 points and if we get more than 26 entries in the next contest, will also be barred from entering it.

That said, it's time to get straight into the results with England!

Back To School take the early lead, while Equatorial Guinea recover half of their lost points immediately. Let's check in with Alaria for their points.

And another first place for Back To School putting them in good contention already. Let's check in with NUSA for their points.

Nothing for Back To School there, but they retain a good lead. Alaria get their first points and it's a first place helping them out massively. Only one country has yet to receive any points, and that's Denmark who remain on zero, but are not in last place due to the negative points from East Agouza and Equatorial Guinea. Speaking of Denmark they won't receive points now as they're up!

Equatorial Guinea take top place and jump to joint ninth. East Agouza inch closer to the start line. Back To School stay in first with an eight point lead over Germanyland. Croatia, our third place country, are up next.

Croatia drop to fifth as Norway and Alaria jump up to third and fourth respectively. Back To School remain in first but their lead is deteriorating. It's over to Y Ty Neidr for their results.

Norway and Alaria both move up a place as Germanyland drops to fourth. Denmark remains on zero, while East Agouza are still on negative points. Will Germanyland drop back further as they give their results?

They do not, and Alaria move back to second place and are just two points behind Back To School. Equatorial Guinea are still on the right hand side of things and are tied for ninth still. Let's check in with Mike's Messed Up Face.

And Alaria finally knock Back To School off the top spot! East Agouza continue to inch closer to the start line. Let's go to USA to take us to the halfway point.

Twelve to Equatorial Guinea push them to seventh place, while Back To School return to the top spot. We're halfway through the results and we have a solid top group coming together, while the bottom end seem to not be moving, except Denmark who finally get their first points! Now over to Rainylands!

Back To School stay in first place, but Norway leap over Alaria and are three points behind Back To School. East Agouza continue moving slowly to zero. Poland, over to you!

Rainylands receive the twelve which shifts them over to the left side of the board, Back To School extend their lead as Norway get no points at all, and Alaria only get a single point. Will Hallownest change anything?

And changes are made, but it's Croatia taking second as are NUSA with both tied. No points at all for Back To School, but their lead isn't changed much at all. There's just four countries to go, meaning 48 points is required to catch first place, so USA and below are out of the running. What will Utopia III do to things?

Back To School drop to third suddenly as they not only get no points, but Norway and Alaria take both top spots from Utopia III. East Agouza get two points leaving them a single point behind the starting line. With just three countries to go will East Agouza return to the start line? Will Norway hold onto the top spot? WIll Back To School pull it back? It's Phyrexia up next so let's see!

And it's Alaria taking first now, while Back To School and NUSA tie for second place. Just two countries left to vote, so twenty four points can be given. This means everyone from Equatorial Guinea and lower are out of the running. And it's Back To School up next! So will they rule themselves out of the victory?

And Back To School are out of the running, Alaria have a twelve point lead over Norway. East Agouza are still below zero as well, so will they pull themselves up enough? And will Norway gain twelve points? It's unlikely as Norway are the final country to vote, so Alaria have won Song Contest 55! That means Norway are deciding the rest of the positions, so let's check the final votes for 2025.

1st: Alaria - Linkin Park - Heavy Is The Crown

Alaria take the top spot, again! Norway do remain in second place, and the tie in third goes to NUSA as Back To School drop to fourth due to NUSA receiving a ten point vote and Back To School did not.

Croatia does finish above Germanyland as they received three ten point votes compared to Germanyland's one.

And East Agouza did finally reach their zero points, returning to the start line. It's also worth noting that had Equatorial Guinea voted they would have been on seventy three points, meaning depending on their votes they could have finished in second place.
And finally thank you all for entering and voting for the last year of the Song Contest. We've had some great entries over the last year that have entered many people's playlists. I shall see you all again in the new year.
