Welcome to the results of Song Contest 58!

Before we begin, sign ups are officially open for Song Contest 59.

SC59 Entry Deadline:

Sunday 14th June - 11:59pm GMT

Please check the home page for full details on how to enter.

Reminder:  ties are not really shown in any form of order, merely what the program outputs them as. I'll make a note after the final image for any ties to announce the official final order.

For now, on with the results!

Unfortunately 4 countries failed to vote, those being Australia, Eldervair, Kingdom of oo and Romania, and so all receive minus 20 points.

First up Jimbabwe!

The initial twelve go to a country on negative points. But if that keeps up they could be the first ever to win despite not voting. But with twenty two voting countries we still have a long way to go, so to save me not commenting on much, lets run with a few images and I'll be back when things have spiced up!

And I'm back! Up The 6-4 are barely in the lead, with Uganda behind them by just four points. At the bottom of the pack Eldervair have moved into the positive points already, while Kingdom of oo has even managed to get up to fourteen points! In fact, only three countries are yet to receive a single point, Australia, Norway and Uzbekistan. Let's check in with The Interplanetary Ballroom for their votes.

Up The 6-4 moves further into the lead, while Uganda gets no points but stays in second as United States close in. No change at the very bottom either. Will we end with someone getting zero points? Let's see if Hallownest fix anyone's fortunes.

8.png

Twelve points to The Shire jump them over to the left hand side, but Up The 6-4 and Uganda continue breaking from the pack. Jimbabwe makes a huge jump up to fourth place as well. Let's check in with Canada next.

9.png

A much needed twelve for Romania, yet they remain on negative points. Another high placement for Up The 6-4 as well keeps them at the top, while Jimbabwe moves into third, catching up with Uganda. Still no movement from our three no-pointers. Will Vatican city make a change to that?

10.png

They do not, but they do allow Romania to get to the zero point mark. No points to our top two either, and only a single point to Jimbabwe. We're going over to Eurovision Time! now to give us the points as we reach our halfway mark.

11.png

And out of nowhere Germanyland leap into second place, which just shows how close everything has been so far. Uzbekistan and Norway both get their first points as well! Australia however has yet to move. Next up, China!

12.png

Twelve to Jimbabwe pushes them right up to joint second alongside Germanyland, while Uganda drop out of the top three entirely. No points to Up The 6-4 mean the gap is closing slowly. United States are up next!

13.png

Up The 6-4 has stalled as Jimbabwe continues to advance on them. But at the bottom of the list Australia has finally got their first points! Uganda remains in fourth, but that could change as they are next to give their results.

14.png

And that barely stay in fourth as United States gets twelve points to tie with them. Up The 6-4 stays in first but Jimbabwe closes the gap just a fraction more. Alaria are up next to give us their results.

15.png

Once again Jimbabwe and Germanyland are tied for second, while Up The 6-4 again extends its lead, now to twenty two points. Some good points for Australia bring them closer to the starting point of zero as well. Now to check in on the Stairway at Zevaland.

16.png

Nothing for our first place, but Jimbabwe do pick up a couple of points which pushes them into second by themselves. Alaria are moving up the board now as they take fifth place while Uganda drop back into sixth. Over to Midnightland for their results!

17.png

Midnightland give no points to anyone in our top five except Up The 6-4 which extends their lead further. In fact, with only five countries left to vote that means any country from Hallownest and below now cannot win the contest as only sixty points remain to be given out. Norway are up next, so will anyone catch Up The 6-4?

18.png

No points for our leaders, but not much to those at the tip either. Germanyland move to second. The biggest change is Zevaland move right up into fifth place, while Australia finally get out of the negative points, with only forty eight points maximum left we also say goodbye to anyone from Vatican City and below from being able to win this contest. We're going to Germanyland next, so will they stay in second or be jumped over?

19.png

They do remain in second, but they do drag Zevaland right up to just four points behind them. Alaria also gain a solid eight points. But Up The 6-4 gain another six, and we've lost the ability for anyone from Alaria and down to be able to win. It's now a four horse race, and with a thirty point lead it could be hard to catch them. Let's see if NUSA makes a difference.

20.png

They make a big difference. Up  The 6-4 cannot be caught and will definitely be the winner of Song Contest 58! With no points going to Germanyland, Jimbabwe or Zevaland it makes the race for second place now much more difficult to call. With just two countries left to vote that's a maximum of twenty four points available. Which means anyone above Phyrexia could still get second place, assuming they've already voted... which brings us to Utopia III's votes.

21.png

Alaria move into second place, with Midnightland jumping up to take third! Germanyland and Jimbabwe both drop from the top three. Up The 6-4 are just eleven points behind the highest ever finish (Electric Callboy and Babymetal with Rattata for anyone wondering). So will our last country, Poland, give us a new high scorer? And will Alaria remain in second?

1st: Up The 6-4 - Little Big - Hypnodancer

Up The 6-4 take the top spot as we already knew, and a well deserved congratulations to them! One of the few countries to get triple digits in the results. Alaria take second, and Midnightland take the third spot.

Just to go through the tiebreakers further down, Eldervair finished sixth, Jimbabwe in seventh, and United States in eighth. Vatican City finished above Canada. Uzbekistan finished above China. The Interplanetary Ballroom finished above Poland. Hallownest finished above Denmark.

Thankyou to all who entered, and I hope to see you all back for the next one.

Be sure to check the main page for which artists are banned.

As always entries are open for the next Song Contest, so please enter in the usual way, and please be sure to vote if you enter as it does take away from the effort others put in to listen to all of the entries and from the amount of time it takes to edit everything for everyone to enjoy.
